DESIGN: Simple forms for slow play

Simple forms and simple notions such as a mountain, a cloud, a leaf encourage slow play and exploration from an early age. Just leave the wooden, satin-smooth wooden pieces on the floor and let your little one explore, combine different pieces together, try again, and experiment. It's a fun toy that stimulates curious little minds while at the same time practicing fine motor skills.

Some ideas...

Talk with them about nature, about earth, water and the air while showing them the pieces. Go out and observe the leaves, the hills, feek the rain, and put your feet in the river, the sea, the lake. Draw with them the forms on a paper, cut them and make a mobile. It’s through play and experience that children understand  the world…
